From 9 to 11 September, Bangkok will be hosting the Food Ingredients Exhibition, for the South East Asia region. The Purextract® team will be present on stand (J1) of its distributor, Jebsen and Jessen.
On this occasion, Yannick Piriou, who is in charge of Purextract® Research and Development, will host a conference on the specifications of purified Oligopin® and Cosmythic® pine bark extracts; he will address the following points:
– Responsible sourcing
– The extraction process
– The specificities of the oligomeric procyanidins in comparison with polyphenols
– The specificities of purified extracts compared with crude extracts
– The health and beauty benefits measured in Oligopin® and Cosmythic®
The objectification of the work on Vitaflavan® will also be available to visitors. Vitaflavan® is a natural extract made from grape seed in the Bordeaux and Champagne vintage vineyards, in France.
In a market where the low-priced ingredients mask a poor concentration in OPC, Vitaflavan® guarantees a rate of OPC, higher than 75% (of the 15 grape extracts analyzed by an independent laboratory, the average concentration of the active OPC molecule was 18%).
To summarize, OPCs are the procyanidins, with a low molar mass, whose effectiveness has largely been demonstrated, for their in-vivo antioxidant activity, among other things. These must certainly not to be confused with other polyphenols, where the biological effectiveness and safety of usage are much less well established.
